OVERVIEW
Tavi Malek faces a conundrum. His love of drinking, gambling, and whoring has caused his finances to collapse, leaving him and his family penniless.
Desperate and broke, Tavi seeks assistance from his younger cousin Yuel. Yuel is the young master of a vast estate, the huge Thistledown Manor, which is encircled by lush gardens and staffed by diligent servants, despite being four years Tavi’s junior.
Despite the distance between Yuel’s and Tavi’s families, Tavi thinks his younger cousin will have enough compassion to offer an olive branch. Things don’t quite go as planned, but he throws himself on Yuel’s mercy and asks if he will hire him as a servant.
