Lady Lucretia’s Mendacious Malpractice

A century ago, Penelope Belivet arrives at the office of the determined psychoanalyst Lucretia Gilman in search of relief from her lingering melancholy. Yet despite Lucretia’s best efforts, Penny’s sadness remains stubbornly out of reach. As the sessions continue, professional concern slowly blossoms into something deeper. A century ago, a being known as Crocus suddenly appears in the basement office of the determined psychoanalyst Oliver Crawford. Unable to understand why this point in history insists on keeping women apart, Crocus watches as Lucretia and Penny’s bond steadily grows in the rooms above. It begins to wonder whether encouraging Lucretia to embrace her feelings might spark change far beyond a single relationship. Unfortunately, helping proves difficult when Lucretia and Penny struggle to recognize and express what the other truly needs.
