OVERVIEW

Charmed Tales is a series of standalone adult spin-offs set in the world of Charmed. First up is Colors of the Wind, a comedic, grown-up reimagining of the classic legend—with all the parts Disney politely left out.

You play as Thomas, the colony’s youngest recruit, worst marksman, and only man ever to lose a sword fight to a coil of rope. Unsurprisingly, he’s chosen for the most thankless mission imaginable: paddling upriver alone to search for gold, mostly because no one expects him to make it back.

Things go exactly as badly as you’d expect. Thomas loses his canoe, washes ashore soaked, trouser-less, and hopelessly out of his element on Powhatan land. Before long, he finds himself under the wing of a fearless young woman, a four-hundred-year-old talking willow with an obsession for matchmaking, and a mischievous raccoon who absolutely refuses to return his pants.

What follows is six weeks of increasingly disastrous reports to a governor obsessed with finding gold, ever-more-intimate “cultural exchanges,” and one very persistent magical tree determined to nudge fate in the right direction. Along the way, Thomas discovers that the greatest treasure he could find might not be buried at all. The question is: can the most expendable man in the New World find a reason to stay?
