Coffee Extra: Ukuzala

During a thunderstorm, a bunch of pals become caught in an ancient house. They choose to make light of a bizarre board game they found that has a reproductive theme. They begin to feel queasy, tired, full, and have other strange sensations as the game progresses. They continue to laugh it off until one girl’s stomach starts to swell.

Their only choice, cut off from the outside world, is to carry on playing and hope that after a winner, everything returns to normal.

In summary, Jumanji, but expectant mother. In Zulu, ukuzala means birth.

This is a modest side project that is more concerned with narrative than intricate mechanics or graphics. Its entire theme is around pregnancy and, in a way, body horror.

This game features depictions of childbirth, xray views, and nudity but lacks sexual content. Because it was developed inside the same framework as my primary project, Coffee Story, it makes use of the same materials and scripts.

Currently available for free, Ukuzala is around two thirds complete. Playing through both routes takes one to two hours. There will be a fee for the complete release.

Please be aware I have a full time job and while the idea of doing this for a living is appealing, at the moment it is a pipe dream.

Basically, this means Coffee Story is a passion project and updates may become infrequent depending on what my schedule looks like.
