Greetings from Sakura Fallen!
Even if the fighting options in this game of persistence are straightforward, you’ll still face challenges!
As the lead developer for Sakura Fallen, I, GearBlaster, collaborated with SapphicMoca, who created the soundtrack in its entirety. Eventually, additional project participants will receive credit as well, upon the release of subsequent updates! Check out the credits menu within the game to see the whole list of credits!
Since April of 2024, this game has been a passion project of mine, and I wanted to share my creation with all of you! In this turn-based puzzle warfare game, each enemy is assigned a different set of preset, randomly chosen actions. Since the enemy and you both have access to the identical move set, it’s up to you to determine when it’s best to use each move to outwit and outlast your opponent!
Three moves will be available to you: Attack, Parry, and Recover. which, although they all seem to be self-explanatory, I’ll explain now just in case. Unless, of course, your opponent chooses to parry back, an attack leaves you exposed while dealing damage to the other person.Parry negates all incoming damage, it’s a solid safe bet if you know your opponent is attacking, since all of your health saves across fights. However, Parry is hardly useful if your opponent chooses to Recover, which heals 1 point of health, unless the opponent attacks during it, in which it will deal 2 points of damage, a risky play but very helpful if you know your opponents moves.
There are a total of 3 bosses so far, and 5 total basic enemies to warm up your skills in between boss fights. All enemies have unique attack patterns, and every boss has an increasing amount of potential attack patterns that are randomly selected. I won’t give anything away about how they attack, that’s up to YOU to figure out and master!
Now, I will mention, this game is still only in it’s release form, I have a multitude of updates coming at some point, here’s their general order:
V1.1.0 – Settings Menu and Accessibility update (Will allow a variety of changes to the game like volume, control mapping and such, as well as a Tutorial option, and an accessibility mode that will show the move that’s coming up next for the enemy [with a toggle that allows for a 25% chance to hide one of the moves to still keep the challenge]

Hey there! I’m GearBlaster, a Game Developer whose trying to make their way in this crazy industry. My current focus game wise is Sakura Fallen, a new game I released that I’m really quite proud of! Give it a try, I plan on making it better and better the more time goes on. As for future games I may develop, you’ll just have to wait and see! I’ve got a lot on my plate but I plan to participate in plenty of future Game Jams so this page should feel a lot fuller soon enough!
