Sanjunghogeol : Spirits in mountain

This graphic novel tells the story of a typical college student who encounters furry and other characters with traditional Korean cultural roots. You take on the role of a college student in this game, who lives in a society where people and animals live side by side. You travel into the mountains to look for old ghosts that have resided there for generations as part of a research project for your studies.

You will encounter the young red fox beastman Yeon Juho, the black wolf spirit Yu Harang, and the enormous white tiger beastman Lee Taebaek, who has been protecting the mountain for five hundred years.

Lee Taebaek

He is one of the few remaining intangible cultural assets of this country, the ‘Mountain Spirit’ in the form of white tiger furry.

He is hot-headed, impulsive, and often speaks like an old man, but beneath that, he is wise and serious in his own way.

As a friend of the protagonist’s professor, he agrees to help with the protagonist’s research at the  professor(also his friend)’s request. While he doesn’t usually take an interest in ordinary people, he becomes intrigued by the protagonist, who shows qualities quite different from others.

Yu Harang

Yu Harang, as Taebaek’s successor, is a 284-year-old wolf spirit. He takes on most of the important modern-day Mountain Spirit duties, including external affairs.

A versatile individual, he handles everything from external tasks and managing Itaebaek and Jooho’s meals and accommodations to various household chores—all on his own. He always wears a kind smile toward everyone, but when his face is expressionless, his appearance becomes fearsome, giving off a wolf-like aura that often leads to misunderstandings.

He is very kind to the protagonist and helps with research on what the Mountain Spirit is and what kind of work it does.

Yeon Juho

Yeon Juho is a 118-year-old candidate for the Mountain Spirit, and also fox spirit. He is a disciple of Taebaek, who came from a distant place to learn about the ways of the Mountain Spirit.

Despite his years and his time as a spirit, he is an adult in both age and spirit, but for some reason, his appearance and behavior don’t seem adult at all—he appears more like a child.

Having spent most of his life in the mountains where he was born and raised, he is very curious about ordinary modern society.

Kim Minwoo

The protagonist of this game is a 26-year-old ordinary human college student. In order to complete his graduation project, he seeks out Taebaek after receiving advice from his professor…
