Humanity survives in space on board HMS Terminus and its fleet, but the Earth has died. In this chilly, cruel, and isolating setting, society is disintegrating. However, Rana bint-Hakim is more content and ravenous than ever, and she is resolved to teach her daughter how to live as a predator that consumes men.
