BRAINIAC

BRAINIAC is a single-player top-down shooter game. The narrative centers on Johanna (JJ), a young lady with cyberpsychosis and bipolar illness. JJ goes into a coma after her lover tampers with her medication; when she wakes up, she discovers that she is imprisoned in a future society. JJ finds herself able to switch between three distinct mental states in this strange environment, but she can’t switch between the depressive, normal, and manic modes at will. Her mental state, powers, and gameplay are all impacted by these moods.

This is a prototype demo created by students from the University of A Coruña in Spain who are studying digital creativity, animation, and videogames.
