OVERVIEW

The main character takes on her aunt’s debt to an extravagant and affluent businessman. The business owner’s son, who assumed control a few years ago, insists that she settle the bills by year’s end. She can either try to get the airship airworthy and launch a delivery service, or sell the airship and pay off the loan right away, which leads to a thorough investigation into her hometown.

An entrepreneur to whom protagonist owes money. Businesslike and professional, Brevik seizes opportunities which come into his hands and isn’t known for a sentimental nature.

A mechanic’s assistant and aspiring inventor. Johan is street smart, self-reliant and a jack of all trades. He takes protagonist’s offer to board the airship and becomes a part of her crew.

A Member of Londria’s Parliament and a wealthy aristocrat. Mirela is invested in pushing through those projects that will be most relevant to her district’s needs.

An experienced airship captain and pilot whom protagonist hires to help her navigate through the vastness of the sky and teach her how to operate the airship.

A quirky and eccentric private detective with a laid-back and resilient demeanor. His clients come from all backgrounds from wealthy aristocrats to street merchants and everyone in between.

A map-maker and cartographer. Agatha is hired as a navigator on protagonist’s airship.

A doctor aboard protagonist’s airship. Corvin is serious, observant, and has low tolerance for tomfoolery on board.

A talented postgraduate student at the Cog and Gear Academy of Higher Machinations, fascinated with the discovery of celestial bodies and magical phenomena.

A cook on protagonist’s airship. Lucy is a hardworking, practical and resourceful young woman who comes aboard protagonist’s airship while running away from an arranged marriage.
