Blackberry Honey is a charming tale of love set in the Japanese countryside, with a young guy and a devoted, absolutely hungry demon girl.
SYNOPSIS
The narrative starts with Lorina Waugh, a maid in Hartwell’s opulent home who just got fired. Due to her need to support her huge family back in Liverpool and the negative remarks that have been making the rounds regarding her abrupt termination, Lorina searches for a new job and finds Bly. Lorina is bullied by her elderly maids and, most shockingly, by Lady Constance, the twelve-year-old daughter of the Lennard family, despite being forced to work fourteen hours a day with little opportunity for respite. The enigmatic Taohua is among the few maids who dare to talk to Lorina, but Lorina wishes she wouldn’t. Taohua, despite her humble station, has a separate bedroom, doesn’t attend church with the other slaves, and doesn’t socialize much. Her unusual name, skin, and eyes, along with her distant, almost feline demeanor, have given rise to numerous whispers in the rural areas of Shropshire that she may be a witch. Lorina is aware that she should avoid Taohua, and she really wants to, but she quickly falls victim to the older woman’s charms, so perhaps there is some truth to all the rumors.

is the protagonist of Blackberry Honey. She is an English maid, half-Chinese, who works in Bly, an ancient, dilapidated building owned by the Lennard family in the heart of the countryside.
Effie
Effie is the serious maid who works at Bly, an ancient, dilapidated building in the heart of the English countryside owned by the Leonard family. Bly is a gloomy, secluded, and lonely place covered in an almost nonstop layer of rain. She is a vampire.
