Running of the Wolves

Pineridge hosts its Running of the Wolves Festival each year. This kind of stuff could be about escaping a bull stampede or something similar in some places of the world. Pineridge operates in a very unique way.

Numerous people apply to participate, but very few are accepted into the competition. For the prizes, some people do it. A few people take on the challenge. Most come to experience what it’s like to be pursued by a pack of lustful wolves. The idea is to be the last competitor standing to cross the finish line, but each year the surrounding countryside becomes a mass of incredibly satisfied, sticky-eyed strangers.

Assuming they don’t encounter any of the other creatures that live out in the wilds first.

A type of singleplayer stealth/adventure mix with roguelike aspects is what The Running of the Wolves is intended to be.

Starting in the town of Pineridge, you will have to fight against hunters and other competitors as you go across the surrounding countryside. A multi-choice map will be included for moving between generated stages. You can choose to try sneaking past opponents, strongarming your way through, or taking longer routes to avoid them.

People you meet in Pineridge will continue fighting you in the fields until either you or they collapse due to the game’s randomly generated persistent foes and competitors.

This is a fully 18+ game. Perhaps this alert ought to have come before that banner, but it’s not as if there’s a button for editing or something.

There’s the original Forest World to explore right now. Explore PIneridge, the center of the game, sign up for the competition, and begin playing. From there, there’s a world map where you can pick your own route, eight pre-made Forest levels with randomly generated cover, obstacles, adversaries, and start and finish, and a procedural dungeon with endless combinations. It should take some time to get the hang of the layouts because there are a ton of different levels in this.

The goal is to try to stay away from the mistakes made by many other games and not have the project take years to complete. A roadmap outlining the four stages of the game’s design is included in the package. However, they are not fixed in stone, and the contents can be switched around as needed. For instance, adding male player characters took some time to complete, but because it’s a feature that many have asked for, it ought to have come first.

It is expected that each phase’s content will be variable.

The game’s expenses are the last significant item. It’s still in demo mode, therefore there is no cost. When the game is finished, though, I do intend to sell it. The primary cause of this is that development on this is slower the more projects I have to complete in order to pay my obligations. Although I would for it to be the first priority, I have to work to pay the rent and buy groceries.
